Plank walls have been on my mind lately. Bare, stained, painted — they look amazing any way you do them up. We have a big vaulted wall behind our bed in our bedroom and I’ve been trying to think of something architectural to do to it, and I think I’ve found the perfect solution. I’m daydreaming of a plank wall, probably painted the same color as the rest of the room, right behind our bed. A DIY plank wall should be fairly easy (I say that now…) and inexpensive as well. I want to move some other things around in there and generally just do some updates and changes to the room. I think a tufted headboard on the plank wall would look awesome.
I’ve rounded up some of the images that have been floating through my head and serving as inspiration as of late. The look of bare wood is so rich and multidimensional.
But it seems that I’m mostly drawn to either whitewashed or painted wood planks for my own purposes.
I love the varying sizes of planks in this one.
And this one is such a feature in this room. It’s a piece of art.
I love the look here with just black, white, and natural wood tones. So relaxing.
I love how this one is painted all one color with a break of white in the middle.
Do any of you guys have a plank wall or walls in your home? I can’t wait to DIY one. And I know Mike is super excited to get right on that project too. ;)
